Webster University Emerson Library
Owner/Developer: Webster University
Architect: Perry Dean Rogers Partners Architects
Engineer: Heidemann
Duration of Project: 21 months
Completion Date: July 2003
Building Scope:
4 story, 71,500 square foot new construction.
Services Provided:
Plumbing installation, AutoCAD coordination of MEP systems.
Challenges:
High water table at property site required extensive underground drainage system with pumps to
alleviate ground water. Public water main serving property could supply required volume and
pressure of water for building. We had to run a new public water main loop involving coordinating
with MODOT and Missouri American Water for increase of water main size. Architectural features of
building limited spacing for piping systems.
Comments:
There were challenges in dealing with the various elevation issues in the structure as well as site
elevations and high water table.
